Hi, I'm Coralie. My journey as a photographer started in 2013 while I was studying fine art and photojournalism. I quickly became passionate about witnessing the unique ways people come together to celebrate love and about photographing these moment with a creative perspective.

Using both digital and film photography, my focus is on capturing what it felt like. The people, the intensity of the emotions, the gestures, the places, the expressions, the connections, the in-between moments and the little details that make each wedding and elopement its own beautiful thing.

With a documentary and fine art style, my work capture the uniqueness of each couple's relationship and the genuine moments shared not only between the couple but also with their family and friends. Photographing weddings with a kind and relaxed approach is important for me in order to help each person to feel at ease and to act naturally.

For every wedding, I am committed to take timeless pictures of the beauty found in every moment, from the noteworthy to the subtle gestures that are often overlooked or forgotten.

INTERVIEW

Who are you? Describe yourself in a few words.

I am Coralie, a wedding photographer passionate by capturing the raw and authentic moments that unfold in the quiet moments and beautiful chaos of weddings.

I live in the North West of France, close to Brittany with my husband and my daughter and together we love cooking, baking, seeing friends, watching movies, skateboarding and playing music. I also love discovering new places, learning about alternative ways of living and listening to people’s stories.

What inspires you on your daily basis?

The human experience, both in its everyday moments and diverse societal contexts, but also nature, small details that usually go unnoticed and the interaction of light and shadow are a constant source of inspiration.

What do you intend to achieve through your work?

My goal is to create images that offer a deeper understanding of the human experience and to make people feel seen and loved for who they truly are.

I want my photos to resonate with people, to evoke emotions and tell stories that linger in hearts. It's all about creating timeless memories, for now and for the future.

If you had the chance to live during a different artistic movement other than now, which one would you choose?

I love so many different movements so it’s complicated to choose one but probably the humanist movement of the mid-20th century. The emphasis on real-life experiences and emotions completely aligns with my approach to storytelling through photography.

After these years working on your craft, do you still feel the joy to do what you do?.

Absolutely! Each wedding brings new stories, emotions, and challenges, keeping the creative process fresh and fulfilling. The joy comes not only from the act of photography but also from the impact it has once the day is over. Honestly, it's a privilege to be part of people's wedding day, to witness and preserve their memories.

Have you always wanted to do what you are doing?

While my artistic journey began in fine art and photojournalism, the evolution into wedding photography was a natural progression as I love being part of people’s most meaningful moments to capture the way it felt.

Does your work and approach have changed??

Yes, it has evolved over the years and it continually adapts to the stories I encounter. My approach has always emphasised the emotions and connections that make each wedding unique but it has evolved as I continually seek new ways to tell stories. The core remains capturing authenticity, but the methods has changed a bit over time like using polaroid and 35mm film cameras for example.

What is your mission in this life?

My mission is to use photography as a tool for exploring and understanding the human experience, to contribute to a more compassionate world and to celebrate the beauty of human connections. I want people to feel seen, loved and remembered through a considerate point of view.

Do you believe art should deliver a message?

Yes, I believe art has the power to convey messages, whether they be personal, societal, or emotional. It should provoke thought, challenge societal norms, and act as a visual conduit for important messages.

For wedding and elopement photography, showcasing non-traditional pictures can help people realising that they can have a personalised celebration day, representing who they truly are and the unique way they love each other.

Do you think that creativity involves putting your heart and soul into your work?

Absolutely. Creativity is a deeply personal endeavour. It requires not only technical skill but an emotional investment. It's about infusing a piece of oneself into every frame.

On every wedding day, I make sure to use all of my senses into capturing what’s happening around me and around each person I photograph. Prior to each event, I built a friendly relationship with each couple in order to built trust between us. This is essential to photograph honest emotions and for people to feel comfortable and act naturally. True creativity, for me, comes from genuine connections and a wholehearted dedication to capturing the essence of the moment.
