THE LIGHTBOX TALES

We are Celia and Andes (yes, like the mountains). We joined forces almost as soon as we met and decided to turn a wedding photography business into a photography and videography company.

Based in Spain and traveling all over Europe, capturing life is our passion.

Cinematic, timeless, classy, with a touch of vintage, and the perfect mix between documentary and Editorial is how we like to describe our approach.

INTERVIEW

Who are you? Describe yourself in a few words.

I am Celia, an extroverted-introverted genotype 7 with ADHD, anxiety, a lot of ideas in my mind, and the resilience to stop a train.
I live by the ocean the majority of the time, and when I lose sight of it, I kind of feel lost.
Besides photography, traveling is my passion, I have itchy feet as I like to call it. And singing, oh how I love to sign! It's like therapy to me.
I started in the wedding business in 2019 (I know, great timing), and have been holding a camera around my neck for the last 18 years.
My goal later in life is to have my own little boutique hotel in the mountains, with sight to the ocean, and to host people from all over the world, share life experiences, provide them with the best care, and who knows, maybe keep on collecting memories with my camera until the day I leave this Earth.

Do you think that creativity involves putting your heart and soul into your work?

I think creativity comes when you are doing what you are passionate about, when you believe in what you do and you trust your gut and are not scared of showing it.

How would you like to be remembered?

As someone genuine, kind, and true to herself.

Do you believe in destiny?

In a way, yes, but I want to believe we have some power over the way our life paths develop depending on the choices we make and the mindset we have.

What made you decide to follow a creative career choice (though possibly risky) rather than something more stable?

I live my life in a "risky" way in general. I live for the thrill of it, I love the rush of not knowing what's next, getting into survival mode, finding solutions, and the feeling of reward that it brings.

When was the first time that you remember realizing that you are a creative person?

I think I have never realized it, I guess it was just there, it felt natural to me. Maybe when people started telling me that their vision of me was that.

Does your work convey a specific emotion or message?

For a while, I considered it very emotional, almost sad at times. I like to consider myself a melancholic person, I love rainy days, "sad" music, and romanticizing sadness, I guess. So I think maybe that: melancholy. Although I think now it's a bit lighter and evokes happier emotions.

Have you always wanted to do what you are doing?

No, but at some point when I was about 12, I started realizing how much joy photography brought me, shooting friends and daily mundane stuff. I thought to myself I wanted to make money with photography, just not sure how. When I started shooting people's stories, I knew that was my path.

What do you intend to achieve through your work?

People can feel the moment through the photos.

Do your work and approach have changed?

For sure. I used to be really focused only on one thing at a time during the sessions. Now I take everything into account and try to merge it all together.

Do you believe art should deliver a message?

I think art is subjective, and everyone will have their own interpretation of it. That's the beauty of art.
